Ingredients
  • 3 medium capsicum or shimla mirch or green bell peppers
  • 2 medium potatoes or aloo
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1 ½ teaspoon salt (as per your taste)
  • 3 teaspoon oil
  • ¾ teaspoon chilly powder (lal mirch powder, as per your taste)
  • Less than ¼ cup of water (because capsicum looses so much of water while cooking)
  • ¼th teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ½ tablespoon garam masala powder
Instructions
  1. Wash the 3 medium capsicums or shimla mirch and tomatoes. chop the capsicum into small pieces and remove the inner white seed part, those are not useful in the recipe. cut 1 medium tomato into medium piece.
  2. Wash and peel the 2 potatoes or aloo skin and cut them into small pieces.
  3. Heat a mini pressure cooker or kadai, add oil then add capsicum pieces and fry capsicum for few seconds. Now add chopped tomato, potato pieces, salt and fry for 2 minutes. fry them on medium flame and stir in between to avoid any burning of the recipe.
  4. Add chilly powder and turmeric powder and fry them.
  5. Now add garam masala powder and fry the capsicum fry recipe for 2 minutes on medium flame.
  6. Add water and cook the curry for 3 whistles.
  7. If any excess water is there then fry the curry on high flame until water is fully evaporated.
  8. curry is ready to serve & enjoy.

tips for capsicum potato curry

  • I am cooking this curry in pressure cooker, if you want to cook this recipe in kadai then you need more quantity of water (more than ½ glass).
  • You have to stir the curry for every 2-3 min until potato/aloo pieces gets cooked.
  • If you are new to cooking or don’t have time to cook then cook the curry in pressure cooker because, pressure cooker saves lot of time and gas and believe me there will be no taste difference curry prepared in kadai or pressure cooker.
  • If you prepare recipe in cooker then add very little water as capsicum will loose so much of water while boiling.
  • If any excess water is there in the curry then fry the capsicum potato curry recipe on high flame until water is fully evaporated.
