drumstick potato curry for chapathi is made of drumsticks, aloo and tomato. i have not used any masala or onion or garlic in the drumstick sabzi, if you want you can add masala powder in the curry.

we can say this munagakaya kura is no onion, no garlic recipe. at our home i will do this drumstick potato curry regularly. this curry has nice flavor of drumsticks, every one will enjoy. it perfectly goes well with rice or rotis.

i have used 2 drumsticks and 2 potatoes in the munagakaya tomato curry, as per your taste you can change the quantities of potato and drumstick vegetable. the given measurements in the curry are as per my taste, just you adjust all the ingredients measurements according to your taste.

Ingredients for drumstick potato curry for chapathi

  • Drumsticks   – 2 Large
  • Potato  – 2 medium
  • Tomato  – 1 medium
  • Salt  – 1 ½ tbsp(as per your taste)
  • Oil  – 4tbsp
  • Chilly powder – 3/4th tbsp (as per your taste)
  • Water – 1/4th cup 
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4th tbsp

  1. Wash and chop the drumstick(2 inch).
  2. wash and chop tomato into medium size pieces.
  3. Wash and peel the potato skin and cut them into small pieces. if you are cutting potatoes a head then keep the chopped potatoes in normal water, so that their skin color won’t change, so at the time of making curry you can take potatoes from the water and add into the drumstick recipe.

  4. Heat a mini pressure cooker or kadai , add oil then add tomato, potato and fry for few seconds. if you want you can add onions too, if you are adding onions then add them before adding tomatoes and fry for 2 minutes. for this curry i don’t like to give tempering if you want just add jeera enough it gives nice flavor, in case you are adding jeera then add jeera after oil gets heated, after jeera got little color then add tomato.

  5. Now add drumstick pieces and salt fry for few  minutes(2 minutes).
  6. Add chilly powder and turmeric powder and fry for few seconds. after you added chilly powder mix the curry thoroughly.

  7. Add water and cook the curry for 3 whistles. i have added 1/4th cup of water for cooker version, if you are cooking in kadai then you require more quantity of water like around 1 cup of water.
