this wheat dosa also called as goduma dosa, atta dosa, godumai dosa in various regions. given measurements in the recipe suits for people for breakfast or snacks. always chop the onions into very fine pieces so that onions also will cook easily. i will always prepare this dosa on non stick pan. if you want chuntey for this dosa then you can have with almond chutney, peanut chutney, tomato chuntey.

usually i will prepare this batter instantly, but when i have any planned busy morning then i will prepare this instant dosa batter and keep in the fridze. but before 1 hour you have to take this batter from fridze, so that the coolness of the batter will go. first mix all the ingredients then add water other wise chilly powder wont get mix nicely it will form like very small lumps. make sure you have to mix the batter nicely always before pouring the batter on the dosa pan.i will add oil before and after adding the batter on the pan to avoid dosa sticking to the pan.

Ingredients
  • Wheat flour or atta or goudma pindi-1/2 cup
  • Rice flour -1/2 cup
  • Water as required
  • Salt -1 ½ tbsp (as per your taste)
  • Chilly powder -1 ½ tbsp (as per your taste)
  • Jeera -1/4th tbsp
  • Onion -1 medium and should be chopped into very fine pieces
  • Oil
Instructions
  1. Chop the onion into very small pieces.
  2. Take a bowl add both the flours, chilly powder, salt, jeera, onion and mix well. first mix all the ingredients then add water other wise chilly powder wont get mix nicely it will form nice very small lumps.
  3. Make a thin batter (as shown in pic) with the help of water
  4. Heat a dosa pan on stove, after pan got hot pour few drops of oil and spread that oil over the pan with the help of spoon or spatula. make sure you have to mix the batter nicely always before pouring the batter on the dosa pan.i will add oil before and after adding the batter on the pan to avoid dosa sticking to the pan.
  5. Pour the batter on pan starting from the border of the pan to the middle with the help of large spoon.
  6. Again add the oil around the borders of the dosa.
  7. Flip the other side after one side is cooked (if the border came little golden color then you can flip)
  8. After the other part of the dosa is cooked and remove from the pan and serve.
  9. Repeat the same procedure for the rest of the batter.
  10. You can have this tasty & healthy wheat dosa with tomato dal, any dal or even without any thing.
Notes
Prepare this break fast on non stick pan.
If you want more crispiness then increase rice flour quantity & reduce wheat flour quantity.

how to prepare wheat dosa or godhumai dosa with step by step photos

  • Chop the onions into very small pieces. chop onions very finely so that onions will cook fastly along with the dosa.
  • Take a bowl add both the flours (i have added here rice flour and wheat flour 1:1 ratio to get nice crispy wheat dosa, if you want more wheat flour then reduce the 1/4 quantity of rice flour and increase the quantity of wheat flour), chilly powder, salt, jeera, onion and mix well.

  • Make a thin batter (as shown in picture) with the help of water. this is very important step add little water and mix all the ingredients so that lumps won’t form in the dosa batter then add some water and adjust the batter as per your requirements, i like thin dosa so i will add little more water, if you want wheat uttapa then add less water and cook on medium flame so that wheat uttapa will gets cook well.

  • Heat a dosa pan on stove, after pan got hot pour few drops of oil and spread that oil over the pan with the help of spoon or spatula. make sure you have to mix the batter nicely always before pouring the batter on the dosa pan.i will add oil before and after adding the batter on the pan to avoid dosa sticking to the pan.
  • Pour the batter on pan starting from the border of the pan to the middle with the help of large spoon. everytime when you are adding dosa batter to the pan make sure the dosa pan should be hot enough, because the pan should be hot to spread the dosa batter evenly on the dosa pan other wise it will get stuck at one place.
  • Again add the oil around the borders of the dosa. here in this step you have to add immediately oil around the borders of the dosa.

  • Flip the other side after one side is cooked (if the border came little golden color then you can flip). if you got delayed while flipping the dosa then your wheat dosa gets burned so take care.

  • After the other part of the dosa is cooked and remove from the pan and serve.
